Nested in the shadow of Guadalupe Peak...

Dell City has provided quality rural living since it was founded in the late 1940's. A small farming and ranching community, located 13 miles off of US Highway 62-180. Approximately 90 miles between El Paso, TX and Carlsbad, NM. Our current population hovers near 500 with plenty of room to grow. Known as the "Valley of Hidden Waters," this quaint little community is nestled at the western base of Guadalupe Mountains National Park.

Dell City Independent School District serves grades K-12, is home to the Grace Grebing Public Library and offers state of the art technology including a fiber optic distance learning network.

The community has a weekly newspaper, The Hudspeth County Herald-Dell Valley Review; two gas stations, an automotive parts store, two grocery stores, a video rental store, two restaurants, a hardware store, a feed store, a propane supplier and a farm supply. Natural gas and electricity are supplied by Texas Gas Service Company and Rio Grande Electric respectively. Telecommunications services are provided by Dell Telephone Cooperative and it's subsidiary Del-com.

The Dell City Municipal Airport serves Dell City and Hudspeth County and is owned by the City Of Dell City. The paved runway extends for 4685 feet. The facility is at an elevation of 3701 feet and is located about one mile from the center of town.

Local recreational facilities include a softball field, playground and walking park, a community center and the Dell Valley Hudspeth County Fairgrounds.

Some of our yearly events include the Dell Valley Hudspeth County Fair, the Chamber of Commerce Halloween Parade in the fall, the Dell City & Hudspeth County Junior Livestock Shows in the winter and a Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza in the summer.

Wild West Chile Fest
Since 1958 the Dell Valley Hudspeth County Fair has celebrated our rural farming and ranching heritage. Held each September, the event is a three day celebration filled with traditional fair and rodeo activities. From barrel racing, team roping and bull riding to commercial booths and exhibits and a parade that makes two passes down Main Street - there is something for everyone!
